PAT Research Abstract Award Application Deadline: April 1, 2024

"Research Abstract Award" will be given at the Annual Meeting of the Psychiatric Association of Turkey and the 2nd International 26th National Clinical Training Symposium. In this context, the first three best abstracts from the submitted studies will be determined by the evaluation of the selection committee.

Submission of Research Abstract Award Application

Research abstracts that are candidates for the award will be submitted online via the "Research Abstract Award Application " submission system, which you can access via the link above.

In order for your Research Abstract Award application to be evaluated;
  • Signed application cover letter. Click on the link for a sample " “Research Abstract Award Application Petition".
  • A written statement that all authors of the abstract have given their consent to the competition nomination.
  • Ethics committee approval of the research.

You need to attach it as a single pdf file to the file attachment section in step 8 of the abstract submission system

Abstracts that do not submit the requested documents and do not meet the membership and dues criteria will not be evaluated.

The conditions to be met by the researches who will apply for a research abstract are as follows:
  • Being an original research abstract (case reports, review studies, studies that have previously received awards from PAT cannot apply)
  • At least part of the research was conducted in Turkey
  • The first author of the abstract must be a member of PAT
  • All authors who are PAT members must have paid their membership fees including 2024 fee,
  • All authors of the abstract have given their consent to the nomination for the competition
  • Ethics committee approval of the abstract
The Research Abstract Award Application should be prepared with the following headings and information:
  • Title
  • Authors and the institutions they work for
  • Introduction
  • Method
  • Findings
  • Results
  • Name of the ethics committee and approval protocol number
  • A maximum of two tables can be submitted (table uploads are made only through the system. Tables sent by other means will not be considered).
  • Maximum five references (References should be written according to the Turkish Journal of Psychiatry referencing rules)

The abstract nominated for the award should consist of a 1000-word text, excluding tables and references, including introduction, method, findings and conclusions.

The researches selected for the top 8 for the Research Abstract Award oral presentation will be presented in a session where the members of the Selection Committee will be present and other audience members who wish to listen can also participate; in a session that has been allocated for these presentations in the congress / symposium program.

The time allocated to each research abstract for presentation and Q&A will be notified to the researchers by the Congress Regulatory Authority (CRA) when announcing the selection of the oral presentation.

The first name presenters of the research abstracts selected to the top 8 by the Selection Committee can benefit from the congress registration and accommodation scholarship if they answer yes to the scholarship request at Step 10 while uploading their award candidate abstracts through the "Research Abstract Award Application" submission system. They do not need to apply for another scholarship again to present their abstracts.
