Eka Chkonia

Eka Chkonia is a Professor at Tbilisi State Medical University. She is Program Director in Psychiatry at Tbilisi State Medical University and Clinical director at the Central Psychiatric Hospital (Tbilisi Mental Health Center) at the same time.

She is a member of the International Advisory Board for Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences Reports, the official journal of the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology and the the editorial council of the journal "V.M. Bekhterev Review of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology"

Besides her academic studies Dr Chkonia is member of several international associations. She is an Honorary Member of World Psychiatric Association (WPA), Member of the WPA Standing Committee on Scientific Sections, Vice-chair of the Steering Committee of the EPA (European Psychiatric Association) Council of NPAs, Member of the EPA Ethics committee and Head of the alliance of the professional organizations working in mental health “Alliance for Better Mental Health”.

Eka Chkonia is participating the symposium as a part of the European Psychiatric Association's (EPA) joint symposium program with national psychiatric associations.
